Cloud system is simply a program that keeps your files accessible mostly 24/7. This explains that every website is simply uses a Cloud system. Now, they use Cloud system not just to operate a website but to Store their programs, documents, or even media files.
In my opinion, maybe they have their own super computers that has a lot of storage so they could host a site like cloud services. Though you can build your own cloud system, it's impractical to run your computer 24/7 for limitless accessibility and besides you'll need a faster internet connection in able to have a high-speed file transfer
Advantages:
-You can access your uploaded files on any computer as long as there is an internet connection
-Cloud System can serve as your back up system
-You can share your files online thru the Site's given Link or Syncing it with other account
Example of a website that provides free cloud storage was Dropbox.com, they give 2 GB free space for new users but you could extend it by completing some of their condition (e.g. share it to Facebook, tweeter, etc.) or purchasing their services. If you'll be using it for personally and you won't need a lot of space this might be a worth to try but if you're doing it for business, better buy some of their extra services OR you might want to search for another cloud storage providers. There are lot of websites offer like this service you you might not want to just register for one.
They have Application for Androids Phones and iPhones so you could access it anywhere you like to but still requires an internet connection.
